A great stopover B&B on the way to SW France;
Keith and Carol would be delighted to welcome you here to theirr 19th century house, a pre-1946 cafe/hotel and now a Chambres d’Hôtes since April 2006. Situated some 40 kms west of Poitiers and is in the “Pays de Gâtine”, which is noted for apple growing. The nearest town of Parthenay, 12 kms to the north has a lovely medieval quarter with half-timbered buildings and was an established centre of hospitality on the pilgrimage route to St James de Compostella. There are several restaurants in Parthenay and in St Maixent L’École (16 kms south) as well as 2 bar/restaurants in Reffannes itself.
One double with ensuite bath & shower and one twin room are offered. Breakfast is included – large conservatory.
English-speaking owners- ideal location for visiting the Marais Poitevin, Futuroscope, la Rochelle or the vineyards of the Haut Poitou e.g at the Domaine de Villemont at Mirebeau. There are other lesser known regions not far away, such as the “Fiefs Vendéens” and the “Thouarsais” both with some excellent “vignerons”.
